Hello again WWAT world. It is spring again, and time to be making summer building plans--but what will i be building and with whom?!

Here's a bit about me:

I have been working in construction (both natural and conventional) for 3 years and in that time have had a wide variety of experience. I have worked on luxury second homes, a straw bale chicken coop, and projects in between. I have a good base understanding of how a house (conventional or natural) is built, learn quickly, and am eager to get my hands dirty with some actual dirt again. In general I enjoy both the physical and mental work of building--the tired muscles at the end of the day and the creative problem solving. I am eager to get back to building with dirt and straw.

when i am not working i like to spend a lot of time outside in the mountains. i backpack, hike, bike, canoe, ski (slowly!), and fish (badly!). for inside fun i like to read good books, and enjoy creative crafts such as knitting and pottery (i am a beginner potter). I also love to cook and eat good food.

a very brief synopsis of my relavent work experience.

1 summer in Wisconsin helping friends mostly with the durasol basement.

1+ year working for and owner-builder on his enormous SIP house. Included SIP walls and roof, some conventional framing, windows, manual labor...

1 summer/fall in British Colombia living/working on a natual building site/organic farm. Projects were mostly small, but with a lot of variety. Load bearing SB, cob, woodchip-clay, rammed earth tires, post and beam framing, earthbags...

1+ winter on a trim crew. Mostly hanging cabinets and doors, some trim.

A spring in southern Utah working with an owner-builder on several natural and conventional projects. Some framing, Load bearing SB, and earthen floors.

1 more summer in BC mostly plastering. An exterior and interior earthen brown coat, an exterior lime finish coat, earthen plaster on a conventional house, and some prep work for interior clay on drywall.

i move around a lot, but i am on the hunt for the perfect town/region. this place would have:

1 mountains for all my outdoor fun-needs (includes winter skiing!)
2 food grows nearby
3 natural building work
4 other people who also like 1-3

if you are planning to do some building soon in that place (wherever it may be) PLEASE contact me. Even if you aren't in that place exactly, but are doing some fun building, let me know! I am currently in colorado, but am open to suggestions :)
